were printed by Godfrey Phillips Ltd. (UK) in 1938 and issued in cigarette
packages. Each card measures approximately 2.2 x 2.5 in. (5.3 x 6

approximately 1.5 x 2.8 inches (3.5 x 7 cm.). The
same picture appeared on a tobacco card issued by R.J. Lea Ltd. of
Manchester, England (Tournament Cigarettes) in 1939. It is card number 7
of a series of 54 cards called "Famous Film Stars." The
back of the card contains a brief biography of Rathbone. Same size

printed in France. The front of each card shows different photos
from a film. On the back is technical information, cast, resume of
the story and some facts concerning the making of the film. It
measures 5.1 x 8 inches (13 x 20.5 cm). The text is in French.
Rathbone films represented in the Mr. Cinema card series are "Son of
Frankenstein," "David Copperfield," "Pontius Pilate" (above) and
"International Lady," "Above Suspicion," "Adventures of Sherlock
